_3_0__M_e_t_e_r_s_. U. S. amateurs are reminded to avoid use of the
10.109 to 10.115 MHz segment of the new band. Also,
contacts on the 10 MHz band will not be creditable toward
ARRL awards.
_K_e_r_g_u_e_l_e_n__I_s_l_a_n_d_. FB8XR is expected to become active at any
moment for a three month operation by F6GVX. In a similar
operation, F6DWQ will operate FB8ZP from Amsterdam and St.
Paul Islands for 11 months.
_R_o_d_r_i_g_u_e_s__i_s_l_a_n_d_. Alex, 3B8DA, will be going to Rodrigues
Island about the 18th for a week as 3B8DA/3B9.
_T_r_i_n_d_a_d_e_. PY00TA and PY00TB are expected to begin a 34 hour
all band operation at any time.
_T_r_i_n_i_d_a_d__a_n_d__T_o_b_a_g_o_. 9Y4PW has been quite active on the low
end of 20 meters, around 14228 kHz at 1200Z. QSL to G4DXC.
_M_a_r_i_o_n__I_s_l_a_n_d_. Rumor has it that ZS2MI will be on before
the end of the month.
_C_h_i_n_a_. A new Chinese station, BY1BC, is expected soon. The
antenna is ready to go, but rig problems are delaying its
start.
_N_e_p_a_l_. Four operators including a YL, plan to operate from
9N1 through January 1 on all bands, ssb and cw.
_I_r_a_q_. YI1BGD has been on recently on 10 and 20 meter ssb
between 1200 and 1600Z. He is also sometimes on with JY3ZH
on 14220 kHz at 0630Z.
_H_e_a_r_d__I_s_l_a_n_d_. The DXpedition plans are progressing on
schedule. After departure on January 2, keep in touch via
VK00SJ/MM.
_T_u_n_i_s_i_a_. 3V8AA has been active on 28745 kHz at 1300 to
1400Z.
_S_y_r_i_a_. The Technical Institute of Radio will celebrate 35
years of amateur radio in Syria with 6C35A, 6C35M, 6C35N,
and 6C35O operating 80 through 10 meters, ssb only, between
0300Z December 25 and 1300Z December 26 and between 0300Z
December 30 and 0800Z December 31.
