During the weekend, Uosat-Oscar-9 has been alternating among 1200 baud
telemetry, a bulletin board message also at 1200 baud, and synthesized
speech from the National Semiconductor Digitalker. The speech
synthesizer stays on long enough to read off one complete telemetry
frame.

THE EFFECTS OF THE ATTITUDE CONTROL MANOEUVRES PERFORMED DURING
THE WEEK ENDING 10/12/82 HAVE CAUSED CONCERN OVER S/C TEMPERATURES
- THE BATTERY TEMPERATURES DROPPED TO -17.5C DUE TO THE
ENLARGED PRECESSION ANGLE. INCREASING THE Z-SPIN PERIOD TO 153
SECS HAS REDUCED THE PRECESSION PERIOD FROM APPROX 22 DAYS TO 4
DAYS WHICH WILL REDUCE THE AMPLITUDE AND LONG PERIOD OF THIS
THERMAL CYCLING. THE CURRENT THERMAL CYCLE, PERIOD 4 DAYS AND
VARYING BETWEEN +3C AND -11C IS BEING MONITORED BEFORE FURTHER
ATTITUDE CONTROL MANOEUVRES ARE PERFORMED.
* NEW DATA FORMAT *
WHOLE-ORBIT DATA COLLECTION (A FUNCTION PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED BY
THE F100L COMPUTER) HAS BEEN TRANSFERRED TO THE 1802. THE CURRENT
VERSION PRODUCES CHECKSUMMED LINES OF DATA, WITH CHANNEL NUMBERS
AND A VARIABLE NUMBER OF TELEMETRY DATA VALUES. THE FORMAT IS:

USING 8-BIT BINARY ADDITION - RESULT SHOULD BE 0AAH )
NNNN=0000 GIVES CHANNEL NUMBERS RECORDED IN 0YZ POSITIONS
CURRENTLY, SEQUENCE COUNTER 0001 IS PROGRAM LOAD TIME - OVER
ENGLAND. NO COMPUTER-READABLE TIMESTAMP IS YET AVAILABLE. DATA
WILL BE TRANSMITTED FOR APPROX 2 ORBITS TO ALLOW FULL RECORDING.
