I have been watching gnu.emacs.source for some time now and haven't
seen a posting of emacs. I thought that it would show up every month
or so.
Since I don't have FTP access, it would be nice to get it here.

gnu.emacs.sources is for people to post reasonably small enhancements
to GNU Emacs.
Posting the full source of Gnu Emacs would put a load of over 10 meg
on the each Internet link it flowed over. Roughly a days worth of
USENET traffic right now.
This is not polite, and is frowned upon by many. You don't see the
full source of any other program posted monthly, and (almost ?) all
other source postings are much smaller then this.
You can ask
gnu@prep.ai.mit.edu
for pointers to ftp and anonymous uucp sites. You can then call up
a uucp site and transfer it. gnu@prep can also tell you how to
order a tape.
