Out of habit and convention I usually key up a machine and state that I am "listening" or "monitoring." However, I have no objection to a *SHORT* CQ on the repeater. Let's just not make it a 3x3 repeated X number of times. A simple "CQ BARS, this is KA9MNK" will suffice. 73, John KA9MNK
