In the same issue where the ARRL rages against the FCC's proposal to create a code-free license (but fails to give any reasons against it, besides "We don't like it."), there's also a little box on page 57 inviting lawyers who are also hams to help the ARRL "stem the tide of overly restrictive regulations on Amateur Radio". Also pg. 79's Club Corner bemoans the lack of young people in ham radio, claiming that they seem more interested in computers and video games, then goes on to present recruiting proposals designed to wean the kiddies away to ham radio instead. It might be easier if you could buy a ham radio and play with it -- like a computer or video game -- instead of studying and passing tests first, but somehow this point is missed.
