[gnu.g++.help] compiling g++ on an IRIS 4D

amante%asgard@HUB.UCSB.EDU (01/09/91)

I am trying to build g++-1.37.1 on an IRIS 4D/70G
using the native IRIS cc with no success. I have
increased some optional parameters like the
tree symbol table and number of cases in a switch
statement to make the IRIS cc accept some of the
larger requirements of g++, BUT still the compiler
gives up on cplus-decl.c complaining of
"enumeration type clashes".

I'm using the IRIS cc because I want
to use the -g option so that I can debug the
resulting g++ compiler. (Note that I have a
working version of g++ built with gcc but I am not
able to symbolically debug it.)

Thanks in advance for any help you can extend ...
