My mountain bike, secured with a Kryptonite lock, was recently stolen. Apparently, the "unbreakable" and "unpickable" lock was not much of a deterrent to the thief. Some friends of mine thought they had seen an article on the net a while back describing the weaknesses of Kryptonite-type locks, but they could not locate the specific one. If anyone out there has information about the following, please send a reply! 1) Are any of the other "secure" locks (i.e. Citadel, Rhode Gear, etc) better or worse than a Kryptonite? 2) Are there known methods for opening/destroying a Kryptonite lock? 3) Recommendations for securing a bicycle. [Moderator tack-on: There was a largish discussion about this last spring or so if I remember right. The archives probably contain lots of answers and interesting details of where the weaknesses are. _H*]
