I am a camera buff as well as an aviation enthusiest, so I love to take pictures of airplanes. So often in my travels, I'll stop by the local military base and ask to enter the base for a look around. I have never been turned down. All they do (if at all) is look at my license, write down my tag number, issue me a pass to place in my window and then send me on my way. This has been done mostly on Air Force bases and only on a few Army bases. Of course with the recent events in the world, I'm sure that this has all changed. But my question to any military folks that might be reading this list, is why am I allowed to enter a military installation with such ease, drive around, take pictures, etc., and be completely on my own? Isn't this a major security risk? -- Peter D.
