I checked Penrose's book and "emergence" does not appear in the index. I think Penrose is a strong dualist, while the emergentologists are people who might have leanings that way but are trying to keep their levels connected. -- Michael Travers / MIT Media Lab / mt@media-lab.media.mit.edu
