In <56@tdatirv.UUCP> Stanley Friesen argues for mental models even when behavior can be explained without them because of the existence of "other data to be explained beyond mere behaviour," such as neuronal activity. We may have different definitions of behavio(u)r and of mental models. Neuronal activity is certainly a valid subject for inquiry by neurologists, but I doubt that mental models can contribute much. I would like to *see* a full-blown mental model -- something beyond vague analogies -- something powerful and specific enough to suggest experiments. Is there any? Ben -- Ben A.
