As of the first of this year, I have freed the Painter's Apprentice paint package. Formerly shareware, it is now covered by the GNU General Public License. Painter's Apprentice requires a PC with at least an EGA and mouse. It is now available by FTP [128.153.28.129] and modem (315-268-6667) from grape.ecs.clarkson.edu:pub/msdos/pa/*. I will also send it out on three 360K (or one 1.44 MB) floppies for $25. Painter's Apprentice edits bitmaps, not pixmaps. That is to say, it will only edit monochrome pictures. Don't ask about color, you're likely to get a rude response. This package is unsupported. Neither Patrick Naughton (the other author) nor I have the time to fix bugs or improve it. I am willing to serve as a distribution point, however. That means that I'll accept bugs fixes and enhancements, merge them in, and issue new releases. -- --russ <nelson@clutx.clarkson.edu> I'm proud to be a humble Quaker.
