Official AMSAT P3B Bulletin #007 2300 UTC 9 Jun 83 TO: QST FM: AMSAT HQ RLSD: WA2LQQ All conditions for launch 16 Jun 83 continue to appear very favorable. Preparations withing AMSAT for launch support from the Engineering, Operations and Public Relations communities are generally nearing completion and are close to schedule. A potential risk is possible interruption to Telemail to the command/tracking teams should the scheduled outage (15 Jun 0900 - 1100 UTC) slip into the next day. Telemail will be used to transmit tracking data between command stations and the compuational facilities interfaced at KA9Q. ALINS preparations are nearly complete. A brief test of the conference bridge will be conducted 0000 UTC 16 Jun 83. Check with K1HTV for details and/or instructions. Prelaunch bulletins from W2LV, W2BXA and WA6GFY are scheduled to commence 11 Jun. See schedules transmitted by RWALLIO, May 30, 1983, 3:48 GMT. Bulletin text for use by these stations will be posted to the PR bulletin board with vectors from the AMSAT BB. Prelaunch bulletin text will comprise an especially prepared version of the Official AMSAT bulletin summarizing the launch progress/ status for the time covered by the bulletin. Amateur Satellite Report will publish a special edition shortly after launch. The special ASR will contain a compilation of info necessary and (Hopefully) sufficient to get many novitiates started on P3B. It will be sent to all regular subscribers and be available to others on a limited offer basis for $3 ppd to U.S., Canada, Mex; $4 elsewhere. To put things in perspective, think of it THIS way: we are now at T-157 HOURS...and counting!
