TITLE:
The Integrated Chameleon Architecture: A Software Toolset to Support
Data Translation

AUTHORS:
S. A. Mamrak, C. S. O'Connell, and J. A. Barnes

ABSTRACT:
The Integrated Chameleon Architecture (ICA) is a software toolset that
supports data translation. ICA is a stepping stone toward the goal of
a data-translation architecture that is general, code-generating, and
easy-to-use. The architecture is based on formal models and data
abstractions, yet effectively handles translation for a certain class
of existing, relatively idiosyncratic, data representations. In this
paper we describe the tools that comprise the ICA.

This technical report, OSU-CIS-11/90-TR37, is available by email

Our translation work assumes an intermediate-form model for the
translation, and we use SGML DTDs as the intermediate forms. We have
formed an industrial consortium to bring our SGML and translation
software to an alpha-tested, fully-documented, freely-licsenced state.
If, after reading the technical report, you are interested in joining
the consortium, we would be glad to invite you for a demonstration of
the ICA at OSU in early May, 1991. To participate in the
demonstration, please send the following information
