0300 UTC 15 Jun 83 TO: QST FROM: AMSAT HQ RLSD:WA2LQQ/3 Conditions for launch as scheduled 16 JUN 83 continue to be excellent. No known anomalies exist. The launch window is 1159 thru 1328 UTC on Thursday, 16 Jun. First AOS is expected to be at about T + 2.5 hrs at JA, ZL and ZS. First AOS over US will be at about T + 11:00 on 145.810 MHz. Special commemorative certificates (or QSLs) will be issued to all stations which report reception of any PreLaunch, Launch Day or Post Launch ALINS transmission. Simply report station heard (callsign) time and frequency. Send with an SASE (SAE with 3 IRCs for overseas QTHs) to: ALINS Award, AMSAT HQ, P.O. Box 27, Washington, D.C., 20044 Please pass the word widely on this so we can generate as many leads for new members as possible as soon as possible. The addresses on the SASEs will be entered in a data base and all respondents will receive an AMSAT membership application along with their certificate (card). A test of the ALINS network will be accomplished at 0000 UTC on 16 Jun 83. This is Wednesday evening local time (US). All ALINS participants are urged to phone in. If you are an ALINS station and do not yet have the number, you should call W0RPK NOW!!
