[comp.unix.programmer] ANA - APOLOGY TO NEWSGROUP

tam@cronos.metaphor.com (10/17/90)

"You are going to be flamed pretty seriously over this". A statement
that I got in my mail. No doubt about that, I got quite a few critiques since
I posted the UNAPPROPIATE POSTING. Some of them are pretty nasty, but generally
still constructive. Sorry guys, I guess I do not understand the purpose of this
newsgroup.
Not to defend myself but simply explain why I did it. My intention was
to share the program which DOES run on various UNIX platforms. Since everyone
has different machines, I posted the DOS version so that people can evaluate
if it will be useful in their UNIX platforms. To post it here is because I try
to get to the UNIX programmers. I had submitted to comp.ibm.binaries.pc the DOS
version a few month ago, but not all UNIX programmers read that newsgroup. My
purpose is try to benefit UNIX programmers on their development, but sometimes
trying to be nice will wind up being foolish. I guess what I did was foolish.
It's ok to make mistake, as long as you don't make it twice.
Again, my apology to the newsgroup.
