jkl@PacBell.COM (Jerry K. Lau) (11/01/90)
My AT&T 3B2/600 crashed on Oct 10 and I suspected that the cause was the inode table related. Because the output of the "user" command showed "inode of current directory: 599" and the tuneable parameter of ve_inode and v_s5inode are set to 600. Would anyone of you netters provide me with your expertise of what exactly caused my system to crash. I would be grateful if you can send your response via email: {pyrmaid!pacbell!pbhyf!jkl} Thanx in advance. J. Lau P.S. Below are the output from the crash dump. If it isn't enough data for trouble-shooting, I will be happy to send you more crash output. vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv > trace STACK TRACE FOR PROCESS 47: STKADDR FRAMEPTR ARGPTR FUNCTION c00008ac c00008ac c0000884 getcb (20158960) c0000884 c0000884 c0000858 ttyflush(20158960,3) c0000858 c0000858 c0000828 xpcclose(2900,3,2) c0000828 c0000824 c00007f0 s5closei(201229e8,3,1,140) c00007f0 c00007ec c00007c4 closef (2011a1d4) c00007c4 c00007bc c0000794 exit (100) c0000794 c0000794 c0000770 rexit () c0000770 c0000760 c00204e0 systrap () > user PER PROCESS USER AREA FOR PROCESS 47 USER ID's: uid: 0, gid: 1, real uid: 0, real gid: 1 PROCESS TIMES: user: 13, sys: 99, child user: 0, child sys: 0 PROCESS MISC: command: x25hpad, psargs: /usr/x25hpad/bin/x25hpad proc slot: 47, cntrl tty: maj(??) min(??) start: Wed Oct 10 11:59:49 1990 mem: 1d5, type: exec su-user proc/text lock: none stack: c0000744, inode of current directory: 599 OPEN FILES AND POFILE FLAGS: [3]: F#13, 0 [4]: F#5, 80 [5]: F#19, 8a [6]: F#20, aa [7]: F#133, 85 [8]: F#34, a [9]: F#53, 3e [10]: F#125, 20 [11]: F#148, 75 FILE I/O: u_base: c002054e, file offset: 33111, bytes: 0, segment: data, cmask: 0000, ulimit: 2048 file mode(s): write append SIGNAL DISPOSITION: 1: ignore 2: ignore 3: ignore 4: ignore 5: ignore 6: ignore 7: ignore 8: ignore 9: ignore 10: ignore 11: ignore 12: ignore 13: ignore 14: ignore 15: ignore 16: ignore 17: ignore 18: ignore 19: ignore 20: ignore 21: ignore 22: ignore 23: ignore > proc PROC TABLE SIZE = 200 SLOT ST PID PPID PGRP UID PRI CPU EVENT NAME FLAGS 47 p 1847 146 146 0 25 1 x25hpad load > nvram errlog XTRA NVRAM: ERROR LOG errlog[0]: time: 271370ec message: 41081c1a param1: 3120005 param2: 4000d16a param3: c000091c param4: c0000944 param5: 4c Wed Oct 10 12:05:16 1990 Microbus timeout exception at 0x3120005 errlog[1]: time: 2713670f message: 41081c1a param1: 3010405 param2: 4000d16a param3: c00008f4 param4: c000091c param5: 2000 Wed Oct 10 11:23:11 1990 Microbus timeout exception at 0x3010405
