effective immediately, the fcc has eliminated the requirement that
amatzurs keep logs of routine operating activities.  repeater station
trustees no longer need to tape record autopatch and other third
party messages.  amateurs may, if they desire, continue to keep
voluntary logs, and fcc engineers in charge may still mandate log
keeping in specific cases.  details of non routine operations, such
as repeater data when certain power limits are exceeded, auxiliary
and remote control operations, and names and call signs of guest
control operators are still required to be kept as part of the
station records  ar
