** UOSAT HF BEACONS EXPT. ** The UOSAT spacecraft HF antennas release pyros were fired at 02:37 gmt June 21 and the 7,14,21 & 29 MHz beacon activated under on-board computer control. Strong signals were received at UoS on 21.002 MHz with the beacon in alternating morse/carrier transmission mode. The morse speed was switched from 20 wpm to 10 wpm after second 2 minute test. No signals on 7 & 14 MHz heard - heavy qrm. Signals on 29.510 MHz expected but not received at UoS. Due to minimal power drain, it is anticipated that the 21 & 28 MHz beacons will be now be left on permanently. The synthesiser system will be checked out next orbit - 0539 gmt June 21.
