[net.ham-radio] Oscar-10 Start of Operations

karn@eagle.UUCP (Phil Karn) (07/28/83)

Immediately after the unsuccessful second kick motor firing attempt, the
satellite was commanded to reorient to the operational attitude with the
antennas pointing at the earth. To allow for reorientation and transponder
checkout, a date of August 6 has been selected for the start of general
operations. The initial schedule will favor the mode B (70cm->2m)
transponder, with occasional operation of the mode L (23cm->70cm)
transponder to be announced.

Watch this space or the CW message on the General Beacon at 145.810 mhz.
