[net.ham-radio] non-standard crystals available from Radio Shack

parnass@ihuxf.UUCP (09/02/83)

Radio Shack can supply crystals for scanners	other than
their own brand. Yesterday, I got a look at a chart in a
       local Radio Shack that listed:

o+ frequencies	of crystals that may be	ordered

o+ scanners that work with Radio Shack's conventional
	    crystals

o+ scanners that won't	work with conventional Radio Shack
crystals, but for which special crystals may be ordered

Crystals	for Bearcat scanners1 may be	ordered from your
       local Radio Shack.

I referred a friend with	a Courier Cop-Scan to	the Shack.
His special crystal order took all of 1 week to be filled.

Crystals	for other uses2	may also be ordered.

       __________

	1. Bearcat scanners, as	well as	some J.	C. Penny's models
manufactured	by Bearcat, use	less common 10.8 MHz IF's

	2. microprocessor clocks and CB	radios for example
