Is there a way to get set up the prompt in csh so that it prints the cwd? (not just whatever the cwd was when the prompt was defined). --------------- Example: [/usr/users/johnb/src/test]% cd .. [/usr/users/johnb/src]% --------------- Please save net bandwidth and respond via email.

Many thanks to all who responded to my request for "cwd" in my prompt.
Over 20 responses so far. Most were a variant on aliasing "cd" and
anything else that can change the directory... this should have been
apparent to me, but I am *so* rusty at Unix!
Additionally, I think it's notable indication that this is a very charitable
newsgroup, in that I didn't get insta-flamed for asking "a stupid question."
Instead, what I got were a lot of elegant little tricks to add to the
cshell prompt stuff, like having things automatically happen on a custom
basis as I enter or leave a directory.
Thanks for all the nice help and other stuff, folks!
