[comp.unix.shell] How to get man to access my own man pages?

Subject says it all.

I have man pages for several pages that I would like to access using
man. I have tried putting the path of the files in MANPATH but it
didn't work (or I did it wrong).  FYI I'm using ksh.

If you know, please e-mail me and I'll summarize.
