Last week, Bob, K9EUI asked about the Morse characters for various punctuation characters. Since I saw no comment or reply on the net, I am hoping that someone supplied them. However, on the off-chance nobody came thru and/or others may be interested, I quote from the ARRL publication "Learning the Radiotelegraph Code", copyright 1957 (when Headquarters was still located in Hartford, Conn.): SPECIAL SYMBOLS In transmitting text there of course is a need for code symbols for punctuation marks and some special procedure signals to facilitate rapid transmission. The important ones are: Period didahdidahdidah ._._._ Comma dahdahdididahdah __..__ Question mark dididahdahdidit ..__.. Double dash dahdidididah _..._ (BT) End of message didahdidahdit ._._. (AR) End of work didididahdidah ..._._ (SK) Wait didahdididit ._... (AS) Invitation to xmit dahdidah _._ (K) Hyphen dahdididididah _...._ Parentheses dahdidahdahdidah _.__._ Colon dahdahdahdididit ___... Semicolon dahdidahdidahdit _._._. Quotes didahdididah ._.._ Error didididididididit ........ Apostrophe didahdahdahdahdit .____. Fraction Bar dahdididahdit _.._. Understood didididahdit ..._. Attention dahdidahdidah _._._ Hope this is useful. 73, Lindsay W4IZI Lindsay Cleveland (...{ihnp4|mhux?|clyde}!akgua!glc) AT&T Western Electric/Bell Labs ... Atlanta, Ga (404) 447-3909 ...
