I faced with a mail problem. We are using smail for uucp connection to other sites beyond our local network. We expect that the Return-Path of the mail is 'xxx@aladdin.solvit.co.kr'. But we got 'xxx@aladdin.UUCP' as the <Return-Path> in the mail. For your infomation, the other partner of our uucp connection is also using smail. I found that the sendmail is configured into '<$g>' as the Return-Path. I found that our rmail(== smail) does translate a domain style address to uucp style address, for example, xxx@domain to domain!xxx. Is it right that I think that the other parner of our uucp connection is using the same version as ours ? For your more infomation, I include some part of a mail with the unexpected return path. ----- Unsent message follows ----- Received: from mara.ics.hawaii.edu by uhics.ics.hawaii.edu (4.1/UHICS-MX-1.4) id AA00890; Mon, 27 Aug 90 22:28:26 HST Received: from uhics.ics.hawaii.edu by mara.ics.hawaii.edu (4.0/mara-NOMX-1.4) id AA08999; Mon, 27 Aug 90 22:32:40 HST Received: from kum.kaist.ac.kr by uhics.ics.hawaii.edu (4.1/UHICS-MX-1.4) id AA00887; Mon, 27 Aug 90 22:28:06 HST Received: from sorak.kaist.ac.kr by kum.kaist.ac.kr (4.0/KUM-MX-1.4) id AA12571; Tue, 28 Aug 90 17:32:11 KDT Return-Path: <hjpark@aladdin.UUCP> <<<<--------------------------- <Here is there !!!!> Received: by sorak.kaist.ac.kr (4.12/08-14-86) id AA24191; Tue, 28 Aug 90 17:32:40+0900 Received: by aladdin.solvit.co.kr (4.12/08-14-86) id AA29403; Tue, 28 Aug 90 17:04:27 KDT Date: Tue, 28 Aug 90 17:04:27 KDT From: hjpark@aladdin.solvit.co.kr (Hyun Je Park) Message-Id: <9008280704.AA29403@aladdin.solvit.co.kr> To: jangmi@pugak.kaist.ac.kr, root@mara.ics.hawaii.edu Subject: Re: Strange in ppp connection(from KAIST, Korea) Cc: hana-tech@kum.kaist.ac.kr
