[comp.unix.internals] Remote procedure calls

IO01036@MAINE.BITNET (01/16/91)

  Hi !
I would like to work on remote procedure calls under Ultrix/Unix . I haven't
the faintest idea as how to go about it . The on line documentation does not
  help in any way .
Does anybody have any references that I can look up and refer to ?
Alternatively , are there any trivial ( not so trivial for me ) examples
that anyone has and can mail them ? Your help is greatly appreciated .
  Thanx in anticipation ...

Read the intro to the ncs section (man 3ncs intro). Also you should
look at "Guide to the Network Computing System", "Guide to the
Location Broker" and "DECrpc Programming Guide". The last is the best
place to start.

The examples in "DECrpc Programming Guide" are on line in /usr/examples.
