It now seems to get Denver directory assistance!! The operator told me tha they've been getting calls intended for WWV all day. Looks like the service is popular. Phil

I called 800 directory assistance. They told me that the National Bureau of Standards had an *unlisted* 800 number. They would not confirm that the 800-957-9999 was it, or had been it. They would also not comment on why when I dialed the above I got Boulder directory assistance. -- - Robert Stampfli (cbosgd!res)

#R:eagle:-114000:whuxle:27500001:000:281 whuxle!mkg Nov 8 00:00:00 1983 It seems that WWV's 800 number has ceased to function here in 201-land. When I last tried it about a week ago, it was fine. Now, I get the "your call cannot be completed as dialed" message. Have they changed the number? Marsh Gosnell BTL Whippany (201) 386-7095 whuxlb!mkg

Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. I now get a local intercept on that number. 800 directory assistance denied ANY listing for "National Bureau of Standards" or "Radio Station WWV" in Boulder or Fort Collins. Phil

>From Dallas I get a "Your call cannot be completed as dialed"
recording on 800-957-9999. It worked last week. I guess someone
has decided to discontinue the service.

#R:eagle:-114000:trsvax:52800003:000:202 trsvax!ron Nov 10 09:42:00 1983 They've changed the number to 900-410-TIME. Turns out that the amount of calls received on their wats ran their bill up to slightly over the national debt. So they're letting the public foot the bill.
