[comp.unix.internals] Process performance monitoring.

I'm trying to develop a process performance monitor (Sun OS, X11R4/Motif, Ada).
Does anyone know how a process can obtain information about another process ?
I'm currently using getrusage internal to each process, but I'd like a non
intrusive (process level) method of getting the data.
