Has anyone out there experienced any audio problems with Kenwood HF transcievers? A specific case I ran into recently was with a 830 that a friend of mine has. The problem is RF getting into the processor via the mic cord. The rig performs well with the processor off but only when connected to a dummy load, will it work with the processor on. His shack is about 40 feet immediately below the 15 meter beam. We solved the problem by adding a .01 cap between the mic lead and chassis ground (not the mic shield). The problem occured with both the MC-50 desk mic as well as the Kenwood mobile mic. I also wonder why, if the mic shield and chassis ground are supposed to be "separate", they put a cap between those 2 grounds (I forget the pinout). This is the only problem like this I have ever hear of with a piece of Kenwood gear. I could perhaps understand it if he were using a long wire or something with lotsa RF in the shack and getting RF burns off the equipment...... K9EUI
