This weekend is the weekend of the ARRL 10 meter contest. The point structure has been changed to promote cw activity, and also to promote novice/technician interest. an outline of the rules follow: Starts 0000z saturday, 12/10/83 Ends 2400z sunday, 12/11 exchange signal report and state/province dx stations exchange signal report and serial number. points: phone qso 2 points, cw qso 4 points, novice/tech in the 28.1 to 28.2 mhz band (signing /N or /T) 8 POINTS!!! Unless someone is going for the score, this should be enough info to get on and participate. Note that the incentive is there for contesters to be in the novice band....REMEMBER TO take the linear off line in this band because of the reduced power limit of 200watts in the novice band!...and hopefully some of the /N's and /T's out there will try their hand at contesting, as its a good way to help your dxcc totals, and was totals..and you will be helping out the heavyweight contesters also... good luck, Steve Wheatley, KU9C, inuxc!wheatley
