[net.ham-radio] Time - for a price

wjm@whuxk.UUCP (MITCHELL) (11/29/83)

For those of you who need the exact time and are willing to pay for it - you
can get it from the US Naval Observatory by calling 900-410-TIME. The price
is 50 cents for the first minute and 35 cents for each additional minute.
I believe WWV now has a 900 number (although I don't know what it is) and
the rate would be the same.

Hey, guys & dolls, look up your long distance phone rates some time!
If dialed after 11pm or on Sat/Sun, etc., calling WWV directly in
Boulder is only $0.25 + $0.18/min. No (900) number needed!

The number is (303)499-7111.

There used to be a joke back when we were in school,

"For the best time in the world, call (303)499-7111"
