the crrl board of directors met on november 20 approving a five year
plan that will see crrl become an autonomous canadian league
organization, crrl sponsorship of an annual can am contest and a
request to doc to reinstate rtty on at least part of the 7.05 to
7.10 mhz segment of 40 metres.  also discussed were ongoing
initiatives with ccta, the canadian cable television association,
amateur radio involvement in the popes visit, a crrl affiliated club
program, and a canadian phone band extension as a response to
impending u.s. phone expansion on 10, 15, and 80 metres.

the national ares program is being developed by ve3gv at board
request.  four areas of the program are creation of a central ares
file, implementation of a canadian ares net, development of a
national ares plan and possible expansion of the canadian ares net
to become a canadian ares and traffic net  ar
