Having been burnt in the past on using new equipment too fast, I thought to ask for anyone's opinions and findings on: the PSI HS-1600 disk controller in use under XENIX. They provide drivers and support; what's benchmarks like for you? The new DigiCHANNEL MV/4 "4 VGAs on a card" board. This provides four VGA monitors, keyboards and mice on a single card. If it has DigiBoard's usual excellent software support, it's a great solution for anyone needing multiuser support on XENIX without PC terminals. Using Uniterruptible Power Supplies with power-fail notification software. The American Power Conversion PowerChute looks good, nice, fully developed--any opinions? What signal does it send? Thanks in advance for your replies! Alex, I've been using APC's PowerChute for about a month and so far all has gone well, meaning I haven't seen it in action yet. However, the UPS has a test switch on the front that simulates a power outage and signals the computer. I tested PowerChute this way and it seems to work fine. Complaint: it does not seem to echo to the console every time and most importantly, there is no mail sent to indicate that the power failed nor is there a log file. From what I understand, there is an update to the software that will be available ADN (any day now).
