the present series of amateur extra prefixes in alaska, kl7a thru
kl7z, wl7a thru wl7z and nl7a thru nl7z, has been used up.  the fcc
will begin a new series, kl8a thru kl8z, wl8a thru wl8z and nl8a
thru nl8z, at almost any moment.  before long a similar situation
will arise in the pacific.  fcc will keep the calls kh7k, wh7k and
nh7k for potential extra class licensees on kure, with the rest of
the 7 block available for amateur extras in hawaii.  the status of
al8 and ah7 is not known at this time  ar
