[comp.unix.xenix.sco] editing /usr/sys/conf/space.asm

root@oneb.UUCP (Super user) (01/07/91)

I am restoring my system from scratch, and need to hard-code my
(four character) systemid into /usr/sys/conf/space.asm in order to
recompile the kernel so it will contain the systemid.

I did this about a year ago, thanks to a nameless kind soul out there
somewhere, and would appreciate (again..<sigh>) specific instructions
on exactly how to make the change, and what to do after it's been
made. The line which needs to be changed in space.asm reads as
follows:

_node	db	NODE, 00H

It's NODE, as I recall, that should be changed, but I'm not about to
do that without knowing the exact syntax; help appreciated!

Please respond netmail, as I'm more likely to see it ... I'm not
certain that the news is working correctly yet :-(
