[comp.unix.xenix.sco] I-Node Question & GNU

tbissett@nstar.rn.com (Travis Bissett) (02/06/91)

Two separate thank you messages to conference participants.
I got thorough and timely answers to recent questions on a file size
error message from fsck (turned out to be a core file -- problem solved).
And, my query about gnu tools for Xenix revealed vast and beautiful vistas
that are, alas, inaccessible to me. "Be still, and wait without hope/ For
hope would be hope for the wrong thing." -- T.S.E.
I don't have and can't seem to get my employer to buy the software
development system. I thought gnu would get me enabled to compile all those
neat and nifty gems freely available thru the net. It seems that gcc still
needs libraries and header files that have not yet been replaced by gnu
equivalents. So for now I'd STILL need the SDS to use gcc. Oh well. Maybe
I'll trade the thing in for a Sun :-) [oops! no flames please! I was just
kidding.]
