Hello net-land, I seem to have a new bad block on my hard drive. Everytime I try to backup a particular file I get the wd error message indicating that a block could not be read. It is alway the same block. My question is how can I add this block to the bad block list without repartioning the disk? I am using SCO Xenix 2.3.2 386. -- --------------------------------------------------------------------- David Hoopes Tallgras Technologies Inc. uunet!talgras!david 11100 W 82nd St. Voice: (913) 492-6002 x323 Lenexa, Ks 66214

You can use /etc/badtrk to mark these bad tracks. You won't have to repartition *unless* the bad spot is in the boot blocks, or your bad track table is full. Read up on badtrk(ADM) in your Installation and Maintenance manual. -- Michael Stefanik, MGI Inc., Los Angeles| Opinions stated are not even my own.
