DOC'S REGULATORY AGENDA, PUBLISHED IN A RECENT CANADA GAZETTE, INCLUDES AMENDMENTS THAT WOULD AFFECT THE DOC PRACTICE OF GIVING SPECIAL ASSISTANCE TO AMATEUR RADIO CANDIDATES WHO ARE HANDICAPPED, EXEMPTION FROM LICENSING FOR SCANNING RECEIVERS, NEW REGULATIONS FOR CORDLESS TELEPHONES, POSSIBLE DELICENSING OF THE GENERAL RADIO SERVICE, REPEATER OPERATION ON 29 MHZ, SSTV ON HF, 6 MHZ WIDE ATV ON UHF AND ABOVE, FULL USE OF 144 TO 148 MHZ BY FOREIGN AMATEURS VISITING CANADA AND DEREGULATION OF THE 160 METER BAND. CRRL HAS LEARNED THAT DOC FEES FOR AMATEUR RADIO STATION LICENCES WILL BE GOING UP FROM 13 TO 13.50 DOLLARS ANNUALLY BEGINNING THIS YEAR.
