both operations have been approved for dxcc credit and cards
are being accepted.

china. by4aa was operated last weekend, apparently by
visiting amateurs, and many north american stations were worked
on 20 meter ssb. later this week, by1pk was heard with k7ja,
his xyl wa7wtb, and ve7bc at the mike. signals were good but
the competition was very keen. tom, ve7bc, was heard to say
that the group would leave beijing on saturday and travel to
by4aa for two or three days of operating. qsl all ssb contacts
to ve7bc.

kermadec. the new zealand/usa dxpedition to raoul island in
the kermadec group began almost on schedule, sunday, march 18.
callsigns are zl8amo, zl8aas, zl8bqd and zl0ajw/8. qsl as each
operator instructs. look for good high speed cw from ron,
zl8amo, usually 25 khz from the low edge on 10, 15 and 20
meters, or 5 khz up on 40 and 80 meters. also, zl0ajw/8 has
been worked on both 30 meters and 160 meters cw. the original
plan was to operate for ten days. the latest word is that the
groups boat has been damaged by a tropical storm which hit the
kermadecs this week, and departure may be delayed. they plan
to operate as long as the fuel holds out, which could be
another week or more. for north america, watch as follows, 10
meters 1900 to 2400z, 15 meters 2300 to 0400z, 20 meters 0400
to 1200z, and low bands 0600 to 1300z.

has turned up sporadically on 15 and 20 meter ssb. he was last
heard on thursday at 1300z on 14203 khz. the operator is
tensay, and asks for qsls to box 6128, addis ababa. this is
probably the same tensay who operated et3pg a few years ago.

dj6si expedition. baldur, dj6si, is departing march 28 for
senegal and the gambia where he promises a six band cw effort.
