[comp.unix.admin] syslog filtering

Our beloved IRIX 3.3.2 insists on printing a copyright sign of
 about 13 lines for each window server activation (login).
This is done at a kern.crit priority level, and clobbers our syslog.
I would like to filter these lines out, but couldn't figure out
 a way to filter a multi-line message, or to keep state information
 between filter invocations.

Has anyone filtered this annoyance out? How would you go about it?
