[comp.unix.admin] New Policy Package

policy@mtek.com (Policy Admin) (04/30/91)

A re-release of the new 'policy' package is now available for any who may
be interested. Those who may have gotten the 5.2 "we-thought-it was-final"
version may want to re-order the newer 5.3 (the one that will, at some
point, be available in the comp.unix.sources archives).

Ancient version:

If you use the ancient (1990) version of these scripts, you will *definitely*
want to upgrade to this new super-gee-whizz stuff. :-)

Turnaround:

I had a number of pending backorders for this package piling up, and
was finally able to ship these when the 5.2 release occurred. Most of
them appeared to make it to their destinations, but a few came back
because of addressing problems. That was several weeks ago.

(All orders which have recently come in from the sysadmin-list are
version 5.3, and are shipping within two days with no known problems).

Any order now should get back by return email within a few days of ordering.

If there is anyone out there who has placed an order in the past and not yet
received a package, then it probably was hit in the head on the trip over.
Please email another request, and I'll send it again.

Shipping addresses:

There is no problem with ordinary bang-path or straightforward internet-
style user@hostname.domain addresses, but should you have something weirder
than that, it would be very helpful if you gave me a reliable return address
so I don't have to spend time sorting it out for myself.

Orders may be placed here to "policy@mtek.com" -- {backbone}!mtek!policy --
but "bud@eecs.ee.pdx.edu" is preferred for our mutual convenience.
