[comp.unix.admin] rcs vs. sccs

gene@bellahs.UUCP (Gene Rondenet) (05/22/91)

We are currently evaluating a configuration management system and are trying to
decide between sccs and rcs. What are the advantages or disadvantages of each
of these? Is rcs easily obtainable/available on a wide range of
systems? Is either one more flexible or configurable? Please email responses
to me and I will try to post a summary of responses if any other people are
interested.

Oh no, not again! Just kidding!
Some time early 1991, there was a detailed comparison on rcs/sccs in
comp.unix.internals or comp.unix.wizards. Several articles were posted
for about a month. Too bad I did not save the summary. It will be
helpful to you if you can dig it out of an archive.
If some kind soul has a more precise reference, that would be
helpful too.
