Does anyone have any experience with using Synoptics LAN hardware? I am interested in this because in the job I just started, the management has managed to toss a gigantic project my way for the design of LANs using Synoptics concentrators, Cisco routers, Vitalink bridges, Appletalk, Apollo and IBM Token Ring, Ungermann Bass file server LANs, Catia graphics stations/networks, plus other stuff... I am very experienced in LAN technology, but I am not up-to-speed on the latest equipment and design issues for the hardware listed above (especially the Synoptics stuff itself.) Any experienced LAN designers, administrators, etc. have any suggestions or design advice? Particular ways to research this best? Thanks. Please reply by email.
