I am currently upgrading our machines (4/330's and a 4/370) to Sun OS 4.1.1. As the full version of the operating system takes up 120+ Megabytes I am looking at ways to avoid putting the entire operating system on each of our 5 machines while still giving all machines access to a full copy of the OS. I have investigated two options : 1) Selectively mounting low use directories from a server machine. 2) Mounting the entire /usr partion externally and then using the tfs to overlay high use files. Has anyone experimented with either of these two options or has used a different, more efficient configuration?
