[comp.unix.sysv386] SCO Unix-flavored C2 Operating System

chip@tct.uucp (Chip Salzenberg) (09/18/90)

According to mju@mudos.ann-arbor.mi.us (Marc Unangst):
>When you install SCO Unix, you are given the choice of whether
>or not you want C2 security enabled.

SCO's salescritters told us the same lie. That's why we bought
SCO Unix. If we had known the truth, we wouldn't have bought it.

When you install SCO Unix, you may "relax" the security.
However, you CANNOT remove or disable it.

Did you ever notice that some "cheese" products are actually
"pasteurized cheese food products"? Well, "SCO Unix" is actually
"SCO Unix-flavored C2 Operating System". It sure isn't Unix.

SCO makes NO provision for those of us who want C2-free Unix.
They apparently want to let other vendors serve the non-C2
market. Be careful what you wish for; you just might get it.
