The most useful program guide that I have found is the "International Listening Guide: The Complete Directory of External Services in English." Most of it consists of program listings. Each pair of pages covers a 2 hour period. It lists transmissions in this period sorted by starting time. It gives the frequencies and target areas for each. Each page also lists separately news broadcasts during that time period, and DX programs. The listings are more accurate than those of other publications that I have seen. The end of each issue gives a list of frequencies and the broadcasts on each frequency. To save space, it only lists times here in 6 hour segments. The format of this publication changes slightly each time it is published (mostly for the better). I conjecture that this is a result of improvements to the computer program that prints the schedules. By the way, the current issue is Volume 7, Number 25, so it has been around for quite a while. It is printed 4 times per year, corresponding to the seasonal broadcast changes. It is printed and mailed (first class airmail) in W Germany and arrives a few weeks after the program changes. The cost is only $6 (US) a year. You can order from N.-American-Rep., Rob Harrington, PO Box 3434, Littleton, CO 80161. He takes USA checks or US dollar bills only! Outside the US, you can order direct from DX Listeners Service, c/o Bernd Friedewald, Merianstr. 2, D-3588 Homberg, West Germany. You can pay in bills, bank notes or checks. Some rates are: 4 British pounds, 8 Canadian dollars, 15 Dutch guilders, 10000 Italian Lira, 1500 Japanese yen, 6 US dollars, and 7 Australian dollars, all for a one year (four issue) subscription. The deadline for getting the next issue is Aug 18 to the Colorado address and Aug 25 to West Germany.
