I used factory jumper default settings as follows: SCSI addr: 7 SCSI Parity: enabled Terminators: Installed Terminator Power: supplying Sync. Negot.: disabled DMA Channel: 5 Interrupt Channel: 11 AT Port Addr. : 330H AT BIOS Addr. : DC000H, enabled BIOS Wait state: 0, disabled FD Controller: enabled DMA Transfer Speed: 5 MB/sec Auto sense: enable. During boot up time, it reported "Host adapter not found at Port Addr 330H". It could only recognise the FDD and not the HDD. I'm trying to hook it up to Maxtor 8380s SCSI drive. Since this drive isn't supported in my system SETUP list, I tried the custom config. entry, but the same problem continues. Also, I setup the system as if no HDD were installed, the same msg still appears. Then, I tried to set other port addr w/ J7, same msg again! It indicated same port addr, 330H, though the port addr. has been changed. Besides help on the above mentioned problem, I also need the followings: 1) interrupt request for use w/ UNIX 4.0. 2) optimum DMA transfer rate setup. 3) install MFM drive as secondary using separate controller. Many thanks in advance. :-) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hai-Chuan Teoh * Email: teoh@uicbert.eecs.uic.edu Electrical Engr and Computer Sci * Tel: (312) 930-1942 Univ of Illinois * --------------------------------------------------------------------------
