[comp.unix.sysv386] X Windows on SCO V3.2

turnerk@boulder.Colorado.EDU (K. Wade Turner) (10/13/90)

I am trying to locate X-Windows for SCO Unix Version 3.2. I am aware of Xsight from them. This is X11R3. This is great, but I am also looking for X11R4. If anyone knows where I might obtain this please let me know.
					Thanks,

For those of you who have ftp connections with uunet.uu.net:

Under comp.sources.x, volume9 there are a bunch of patches
to apply on the original MIT X11R4 distribution. To install
these patches, you have to upgrade the MIT X11R4 distribution
with the fixes from 1 to 14.

I haven't compiled this software yet. If someone has any
experience compiling it, please let me know.

I have tried compiled them but have had problems trying to get the resulting
server to run. Their appears to be some instructions that have been left out
or that I have misinterpreted.

It appears that you also require the file /etc/X0.hosts to exist and have your
machine name in it. This may be because I am running TCP/IP.

As a whole though, the X11R4 code does compile (after some complaining about
NULL deing redefined in some of the files).

If anyone else has this server running I would be interested to know.

Linas Petras Speaking for myself, as no one would listen
