[comp.unix.sysv386] ISC 2.2 & SL/IP & NFS problems

pete@fidata.fidata.fi (Petri Helenius) (10/15/90)

Seems that ISC's NFS 2.1 is not designed for SL/IP use? Whole system
hangs until a nfs operation is finished.
Another 'feature': when NFS starts, whole system is unable to create
a new process for say 30 seconds. Why? (this is same effect as above).
When ISC is going to support multiple SL/IP sessions simultaneously?

According to ISC, not for a long time - maybe never.

that is too bad - maybe Intel REL4 supports SLIP?

ESIX already supports SLIP.

Interactive supports SLIP - but limits you to one SLIP connection
at a time...
