I've been handed a SCO Unix V/386 machine, VP/ix, and an AST 5251/11 PLUS Emulator board to try and make work together. Ok, it occurs to me someone has either done, or tried and failed at this before. Since my initial efforts resulted in failure , I thought I would post a cry for help. My first attempt was to make a dda for VP/ix and that *almost* seemed to be the ticket. Running the AST software program it found the board and went through the entire self test till the last test in the list where it reports "unable to chain IRQ". AST Tech support suggested using IRQ five, so I reinstalled the DDA to use IRQ 5 and set the I/O map amd memory map addresses per their recommendations. I've not been able to find the damn thing from VP/ix since :-). The only minior conflicts I have is a Digicomm Board. That I can move almost anywhere with little difficulty if I can just get the 5251 emulator flying. I'd be very happy to hear from anyone who has fought the battle of accessing an IBM SYS/3x type machine from a 386i type machine with the spoils including "PC-Support" type file transfers. Email is probably implied , But I will happily summarize , forward and otherwise share information if I can get this thing to work. Thanks in advance, Ed Drury ..!tektronix!percy!edrury -- Ed Drury ...!tektronix!percy!edrury ...!tektronix!percy!3cpu!edrury
