Has anyone found a fix for tcsh, to keep it from locking up after running a few tasks in a pipe? Great shell, but this bug is getting tiresome. -- Richard Foulk richard@pegasus.com

As far as I know, I am the only person doing work on tcsh for System V/386.. I have been working on bringing up the latest version (5.19) on Convexen, and will shortly move to bringing it up on SCO ODT/Unix 386, ISC (beta) 2.2, and ISC 2.0.2. The SCO ODT/Unix 386 and ISC 2.2 version will support their respective job control systems, while the 2.0.2 won't, since there is no job control on that system. The problem listed is caused by a race condition in the shell, that I hope to fix while I am pawing through the sources porting them to System V/386.. I will make an announcement here when there is a new version available on OSU-CIS/tut.cis.ohio-state.edu, as well as the site at Cornell where tcsh now calls home. -- Eric Schnoebelen eric@cirr.com schnoebe@convex.com Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today. There might be a law against it by that time.
